‘The Jerwood Applied Arts Prize: Textile 2002 celebrates excellence and originality in contemporary textiles made by individuals in the UK, with the purpose of encouraging its appreciation, understanding and collection. Artists are selected on the basis of those who have made the most significant contribution to contemporary textiles, demonstrating commitment, excellence and innovation in work made over the past five years’. (Jerwood Textile Prize publicity material). Artists include: Rowena Dring, Shelly Goldsmith, Shizuko Kimura, Lauren Moriarty, Clio Padovani, Freddie Robbins, Sarah Taylor.
